Hi there,
I have made the recipe from the old fanny farmer for many years, since 1974 or so, and it is great. Unfortunately, I lost it, so am thrilled to have found it on your site. I always made a big batch and canned it - that way I only have to make it every 2 or 3 years. It gets better with age. You can make cookies and cake with it also, especially appropriate at X'mas. I think both recipes are also in the old fanny farmer. It will definitely be better with regular tomatoes and a sour cooking type apple is fine.

The cake was yummy, and really not too sweet which I liked quite a bit. I don't know how 'jiffy' it is, though, but I'd bet my Kitchen Aid mixer would speed things up though :)

Your cake looks and sounds divine Lisa. I am going to write this recipe down and try it when a birthday comes up. I bought a beater just like yours except mine is green. Thanks for the tips and I will save my beater for something easier on the mixer than cake mix.

I'll bet this would benefit from sitting overnight. I make a similar pudding that calls for sitting overnight in the fridge. It goes from being all watery to not being able to even see any liquid right before it goes in the oven. When Becky gets her next batch of peaches, we'll give it a whirl!

Sounds interesting! I might try it. The sauce sounds good, too. Whrere's the Blueberry Pudding recipe? I must have missed that one. We love blueberries nad peaches at our house! Do you think it would still work if Splenda was used?
